Wado!

"There is no such thing as 'part-Cherokee.' Either you're Cherokee or you're not.
It isn't the quantity of Cherokee blood in your veins that is important, but the quality of it....your pride in it.
I have seen full-bloods who have virtually no idea of the great legacy entrusted to their care. Yet, I have seen people with as little as 1/500th blood quantum who inspire the spirits of their ancestors because they make being Cherokee a proud part of their everday life."
Words of Jim Pell, Principal Chief of the North Alabama Cherokee Tribe.

We are proud to welcome our brothers and sisters to the new home of The Neutral Lands Cherokee community.

The Neutral Lands Cherokee is a small community of Cherokees as well as other people interested in Cherokee culture, tradition, heritage and fellowship. We are a non-profit Native American organization with members that reside outside of the boundaries of the Cherokee Nation and its Bands. We have come together on the foundation of our shared heritage and history and because of our love for our Cherokee ancestry.
We are here to educate not only ourselves but also our surrounding communities about the Cherokee culture, history and way of life. It is our hope to restore and provide a legacy of our Cherokee ancestors  for not only our generation, but our children and future generations.

We are here to serve our community in any way we can. We have been granted a tax credit to rebuild and refurbish our building. Should you ever come to Baxter Springs, stop by, say hello, have a cup of coffee and see our new surroundings.

It is our intent to continue moving forward, enlarging our membership and our Native American community.  You may read more detail on us and our goals by going to the About Us  page.
